Solihull is a large town situated in the West Midlands region of England. It is generally regarded as an affluent locality and regarded as one of the most prosperous towns in the English Midlands. Solihull is approximately 9 miles southeast of Birmingham city centre about 113 miles from London.

Solihull is the largest town with a population of approximately 95,000 in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull which itself has a population of around 200,400. It is also the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull.

The town is believed to have existed since the early 19th century and was founded as a market centre. It then went onto develop as an important stage carriage stop. It is also believed that Solihull came into existence over a thousand years ago as a clearing in the forest where people would gather to trade.

The town is well known for its historic architecture, examples include the timber-framed Tudor style houses and shops. One of the oldest is the historical Solihull School which to about 1560. The famous landmark located at the head of High Street is the red sandstone parish church of St. Alphege which also dates from a similar period as the historic Solihull School. The parish church is a large and handsome example of classical British Church architecture and has a traditional spire making the Church visible from a long distance.
